ACADEMIC CALENDAR

For Classes L.K.G. to II: there is ‘No Home-Work, No Bag System’. The Academic Year is divided into three Semesters.

Assessment for I, II and III Semester are conducted in September, December and March respectively.
-
In Classes LKG to II, oral as well as written assignments are arranged.

In Classes III to XII: there are two semesters and exams. These exams are held in Sept. & March.

The overall annual comprehensive result will be declared by taking equal weightage of all the three terms.

The marks will then be converted into grades on the basis of five point grading scale as given under and the students getting A+ grade are awarded.

The students placed in ‘E’ grade will be given only one chance to improve their performance to get minimum ‘D’ grade to pass.

The Subject enrichment activities are aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities will be carried out throughout the term and will be evaluated at the term end.
-
Each Unit Test will be followed by two class tests of 10 marks and at least one assignment in each subject. They can be in the form of written test/assignments/oral test/dictation/quiz or any other form.

Every week entries for each student regarding notebook checking is to be made in the teacher’s diary with remarks C (Complete), IC (Incomplete) and ND (Not Done).

Co-Scholastic Activities: For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities in the following areas will be carried out and will be graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair).

The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork will be the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities:

Work Education - Work Education refers to skill-based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community

Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)

Health and Physical Education (Sports/Martial Arts/Yoga/NCC etc.)
iii) Discipline: The students will also be assessed for the discipline which will be based on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others.
Grading on Discipline will be done term-wise on a 3-point grading scale: (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair) Principal

Pre-Board Examination for Classes VIII, X & XII will be conducted in December,2023 and January, 2024.

The schedule of examination of VIII, X & XII class will according to D.A.V. Headquarter & CBSE
a) In Grades III-VIII the entire academic year will have four unit exam and two term examination at the end of the each semester.

Each unit test for every subject will be of 20 marks.
-
The term exam for each subject will have a weight-age of 80 marks.
-
20 marks are allotted for internal assessment. The weight-age of internal assessment is further divided as given below:
-
10 marks for Unit test.
-
5 marks for subject enrichment, such as multiplication tables in Mathematics, reading/recitation with proper intonation in languages etc.
-
5 marks for neatness and proper maintenance of notebooks/project reports etc.

The final result of Grades-III-VII , IX & XI will be prepared as follows:
10% of all unit test + 10% internal assessment + 80% term exams i.e. (10+10+20+60=100)
Please note while preparing the final result the weight-age will be as follows:
10% of all unit test + 10% internal assessment + 20% half yearly + 60% final exam i.e. (10+10+20+60=100).
(Please note: As per CBSE circular final exam must include 10% of term-I syllabus. Schools are free to decide the chapters from term-I syllabus which they wish to consider for final examination.)
